About The Role

The Bedford College Group are currently seeking an Assistant Centre Manager to join our Bedford College Services department at The Trinity Arts and Leisure Centre.

As an Assistant Centre Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Overall Responsibilities - Responsible for the safe operation of the Centre on a rota basis and providing services to internal and external customers.
  • Main Duties - Organize and supervise Associates, train staff, ensure excellent service, manage staffing levels, act as key holder, conduct facility tours, provide first aid, handle customer complaints, conduct inductions, perform administrative tasks, and implement effective use proposals.
  • Statutory Duties - Promote and safeguard welfare, ensure equality and diversity, follow health and safety requirements, and participate in training and development.
  • Other Duties - Undertake any other duties assigned by the Centre Manager.
  • Work Schedule - Work on a rota basis Monday to Sunday within annualised hours.

About You

  • Qualifications - Level 2 qualification in Maths and English, GCSE Maths and English (grades A-C) or equivalent, or willingness to achieve this at work.
  • Experience - High performance in previous roles, working with diverse backgrounds, leisure centre experience, customer-focused environment, and implementing health and safety.
  • Skills - Excellent IT skills (Word and Excel), good influencing skills, effective communication, calm under pressure, attention to detail, and positive problem-solving approach.
  • Personal Attributes - Welcoming and supportive environment creation, positive team contribution, promoting the organization's reputation, flexible work approach, and access to own transport.
  • Safeguarding and Development - Promoting and safeguarding welfare, maintaining appropriate relationships, continuous skill and knowledge update, willingness to work at all locations, and health and safety awareness.
