Role: Lecturer – Computing

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Computing to join our Computing department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Teaching and Student Support - Prepare, deliver, and assess courses; support and guide students to achieve success.
  • Curriculum and Development - Prepare schemes of work, develop new learning materials, and implement quality processes.
  • Assessment and Monitoring - Assess students' work, monitor progress, and maintain records.
  • Administrative and Promotional Duties - Complete administrative tasks, participate in marketing activities, and contribute to course team meetings.
  • Statutory Duties - Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, follow health and safety requirements, and engage in training and development.

About You

  • Qualifications and Experience - Degree in Computing or related subject, GCSEs in English and Maths, willingness to achieve a teaching qualification, and recent teaching experience.
  • Teaching and Knowledge - Ability to teach Networking/Network Security and other Computing subjects, knowledge of current developments, and promoting equality and diversity.
  • Skills and Performance - High performance in previous roles, excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and effective communication.
  • Team Contribution and Values - Positive team contribution, work in line with College values, and promote the College's reputation.
  • Professional Conduct - Promote safeguarding, maintain professional boundaries, update skills continuously, and awareness of health and safety requirements.
