Position Overview
We are seeking an innovative and experienced educational leader to serve as Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Education effective on/about July 1, 2025. This key administrative position is part of the Superintendent’s Executive Team and is responsible for the leadership, supervision, and continuous improvement of our elementary education programs across the district.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership for curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation for the elementary division of the district.
- Supervise and evaluate elementary school principals and professional staff.
- Coordinate and lead professional development for elementary staff.
- Collaborate with other district administrators to ensure alignment across all educational levels.
- Analyze student achievement data to guide instructional decisions.
- Oversee implementation of district initiatives at the elementary level.
- Manage department budget and resources effectively.
- Participate in district comprehensive and strategic planning processes.
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, families and community stakeholders.
- Coordinate and lead the recruitment, selection, and deployment of professional staff.
- Continuously engage with the latest educational research and implement best practices to enhance learning outcomes
- Attend school board meetings, public meetings, and local or national conferences and prepare reports for these meetings as the Superintendent may request.
- Execute directives and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility required.
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership required; Doctorate strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as an elementary school principal strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in curriculum development and program evaluation.
- Strong background in literacy and mathematics instruction.
- Experience with educational technology integration.
- Knowledge of current educational research and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead teams and build consensus.
