Temporary Health Services Authorization Coordinator

Location : Mariposa County, California; Merced County, California; Monterey County, California; San Benito County, California; Santa Cruz County, California

ABOUT THIS TEMP POSITION

This is a temporary position and the length of assignment is estimated to go until the end of the year. The length of the assignment is always dependent on business need and dates may change. While the assignment would be at the Alliance, if selected, you would be an employee of a temporary employment agency that we would connect you with.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Health Services Authorization Supervisor, this position :

Performing clerical duties related to the processing of authorization requests and provider referrals

Contacting providers and requesting additional information for review based on Prior Authorization requirement protocols where necessary

Verifying member plan eligibility, with subsequent notification to designated staff regarding eligibility issues

Collaborating with Concurrent Review Nurses, Case Managers, Medical Social Workers and Prior Authorization Nurses regarding member authorizations and referrals within the scope of the role and responsibilities

Reviewing authorization requests for completeness and appropriateness prior to forwarding to an assigned nurse

Entering data into Alliance systems and notifying the appropriate personnel immediately of any issues related to the electronic systems

Knowledge of :

Medical terminology or billing codes procedures

The principles and practices of customer service

Ability to :

Ability to interpret, explain and apply processes, policies and procedures

Ability to pay close attention to detail and utilize effective organizational skills

Ability to demonstrate strong customer service skills

Ability to perform routine tasks independently and work as a member of a team

Education and Experience :

High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience in the health care field (an Associate's degree may substitute for one year of the required experience); or an equivalent combination and experience may be qualifying

OTHER INFORMATION

We are in a hybrid work environment, and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.

While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.

In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below.

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).

Compensation Range

21.50 - $24.45 USD

OUR BENEFITS

Available for all regular Alliance employees working more than 30 hours per week. Some benefits are available on a pro-rated basis for part-time employees. These benefits are unavailable to temporary employees while on an assignment with the Alliance.
