What are the responsibilities and job description for the Radiation Therapist position at Central Care Cancer Center?
Central Care Cancer Center, a private practice group located in the heart of the Midwest, is looking for a full-time Radiation Therapist to join our expanding team in Garden City, KS.
The Radiation Therapist, under the direction of a radiation oncologist, will provide radiation treatments to the oncology patients. We offer a comprehensive benefit package with a regular schedule of 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, with no late nights or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Reviews prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification
- Prepares equipment such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices; positions patient according to prescription
- Enters data into computer and sets controls to operate and adjust equipment and regulate dosage
- Observes and reassures patient during treatment and reports unusual reactions to physician
- Photographs treated area of patient and processes film
- Maintains records, reports, and files as required
- Follows principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others
Job Experience
- 1 years' experience providing radiation therapy to patients
- New grads also encouraged to apply
Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four year college or university; or Associates' degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification; State License and Certification
