The PC Technician's role is to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, peripherals, and instructional technology. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation and instructional technology performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end user training and assistance where required.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
PC and Instructional Technology MaintenancePerforms general maintenance tasks, troubleshoots and repairs computer systems, computer peripheral equipment, along with instructional technologies such as classroom projectors and interactive touch displays throughout the organization Includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problemsResponsible for preventive maintenance for all of the colleges’ computers and peripheralsResponsible for installation of all software for all faculty, staff, and classroomsResponsible for movement form documentation for all computers & peripheralsResponsible for calling Manufacturer tech support for computer & peripheral repair, maintenance or returnsCustomer SupportProvide assistance for the Helpdesk when neededCommunicate with staff and faculty regarding hardware and software issuesOther duties as assignedRecognizing and respecting the variety of experiences and contributions represented by all of our students, employees, and community, the PC Technician I will encourage a learning environment where everyone is supported and valued for their unique perspectives and experiences and will foster and promote the participation of all members of our diverse communities.
