Wedding Coordinator Description
The goal of the Wedding Coordinator is to help make the weddings here at Central Christian Church the most incredible day for each Bride and Groom. We are here to help with all the little details and always to remember that we are serving God’s plan to grow His family. Our attitude and love for what we do is always a reflection of our hearts and God working through us.

TASKS:
Initial Meeting:
- Meet with the couple 2-3 months prior to the wedding date.
- Fill out the questionnaire
- Verify the wedding date and time
- Verify rehearsal date and time
- Number of attendants
- Discuss special people (guest book attendant, GO-TO person)
- Discuss music
- Answer general questions
- Show equipment available for their use
- We provide minimal decorations - tulle on the aisle (bows/flowers provided by the couple), candelabras, greenery, and tulle on light sconces (Mesa Chapel only)
- Any extra décor needs to be provided by the couple and their crew will complete decorating
- We will decorate an entrance table with our décor, additional items to be provided by the couple
- Decide on arrival time for Bridal Party (are they dressing at church, taking pictures, etc.?)
- Confirm sound or video needs.
- Contact the Pastor to obtain the Order of Ceremony – make sure the Coordinators and Sound Tech have a copy
- Follow-up Meeting:
- Two weeks prior to the ceremony (can be via phone)
- Reverify setup choices
- Confirm times and dates
- Confirm vendor arrival times – if needed suggest more time for pictures
- Bride, Groom, and wedding party should be done with all preparations 30 minutes prior to the ceremony start time
- Three hours is plenty of time for dressing and pictures. Couples may arrive at the church up to 2 hours prior to the wedding start time, but no earlier than 8 a.m. The couple should not arrive too early and be worn out before the day begins.
One week prior to the wedding:
- Email all parties to verify information
- Verify times
- Request all items that need to be set up in the venue
Rehearsal
- If possible, have the room set up so any necessary changes can be seen
- Have copies of the Order of Service for Coordinators, pastor, and sound tech
- Confirm arrival time for the bridal party, and where they will get ready
- Confirm picture-taking time
- Confirm if the couple will see each other prior to the ceremony
- Remind the bridal party (If the pastor does not) no alcohol is allowed on campus, anyone in an altered state will not be allowed to participate in the wedding
- Confirm how the bridal party will enter – groomsmen with bridesmaids or with the groom
- Confirm bridal party positioning during the ceremony - the focal point is always the bride and groom
- Confirm how the groomsmen will hold their hands – behind them or in front
- Make any necessary changes to the order of service
- If young children are in the wedding party, verify where they will sit or stand during the ceremony
- Verify aisle runner and candle lighting
- Confirm who will walk mothers (or other special family members) down the aisle
- Collect the unity candle, marriage license, and other miscellaneous items to hold until the ceremony
Wedding Day
- Meet with the photographer to set the ground rules for where they can stand and if flash is allowed
- The pastor usually determines the rules
- Make sure flowers and boutonnieres are distributed to the bridal party, pin boutonnieres if necessary
- Keep the bridal party on task – make sure they finish 30 minutes prior to the ceremony…. HOLD FIRM
- Provide grapes, crackers, and bottled water for the bridal party
- Turn receipts in for reimbursement
- Marriage license – return top to the GO-TO person. Make a copy and send the bottom portion to the county within 48 hours for recordation
Dress
Coordinators are always a representative of Central Christian Church. You should be in presentable dress for the rehearsal. Wedding day you should be dressed in appropriate clothing, as if you were attending the wedding. Make it comfortable as you will be moving around a great deal.
Make sure to wear your Central Christian Church name tag, which identifies you as the coordinator or assistant. The wedding party will know who to come to with questions or for help.
