Job Summary
Central Church is looking for someone passionate about helping kids and families grow in their faith. As part of the Kid Central team, you’ll play a key role in taking our children’s ministry to the next level.
This role focuses on writing/curating an engaging curriculum for ages 2 through 5th grade, supporting our amazing volunteers, and helping develop Kid Central Events. If you are passionate about seeing kids learn about Jesus and inspiring others to share His love, we’d love to have you on the team!
Key Responsibilities
- Plan Level Up (4th & 5th Grade) small group lessons.
- Plan Elementary (1st-3rd Grade) small group lessons.
- Plan Early Childhood (3-year old-Kindergarten) small group lessons.
- Plan 2-year-old small group lessons.
- Order supplies and provide all materials for curriculum coordinators to prep all small group lessons.
- Help make sure all Kid Central rooms are set up for Sunday.
- Teach in Elementary, Level Up, and ECH on Sundays (not every Sunday, but often).
- Meet with the curriculum team once a month.
- Meet with volunteers as needed.
- Organize Large Group teaching schedules for all three environments.
- Help with Large group scripts and curriculum as needed for all three environments.
- Work alongside the Buddy Ministry Coordinator to help with The Buddy Ministry as needed.
- Family Care as needed.
- Coordinate details and logistics for Special Events (1st Grade Bibles, 5th Grade Move Up, Skill School, Volunteer Training).
- Assist in creating a welcoming and engaging environment for children and families.
- Assist in recruiting, growing, and equipping life group volunteers.
- Follow up on leader feedback, helping to improve Kid Central leaders' and kids’ experiences.
- Help as needed on Sunday with behavior management and parent communication.
- Maintain regular office hours.
- Attendance during weekend service, meetings, and other events determined by the Children’s Pastor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with Central’s Statement of Faith.
- Passion for reaching/growing children in Christ and equipping/encouraging parents and caregivers to do the same.
- Degree in Children’s Ministry, Education, or other relevant degree preferred.
- Experience working with children and their parents in a children’s ministry, camp ministry, or educational setting.
- High level of understanding of child development and curriculum development.
- Member, or willing to become a member, of Central Church.
Skills
- Ability to manage multiple levels of volunteers.
- High level of problem-solving abilities among families and volunteers with the ability to pivot quickly according to the needs of a fast-paced ministry.
- Strong interpersonal skills with children and their parents, as well as both student and adult volunteers.
- Willingness to serve with a positive attitude. Has a cooperative, healthy, and motivating relationship with co-workers, volunteers, parents, and children.
- Excellence in written/verbal communication skills.
- A high level of initiative and ability to work independently; ability to perform duties with minimal direction and supervision.
- Ability to complete a task within assigned deadlines.
- Ability to anticipate needs, be highly organized, pay attention to detail, multi-task, and be an efficient time manager.
- Ability to teach in large group settings, as needed.
