About the Position:
Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and Administrative Services, the Administrative Specialist will perform a wide variety of administrative support duties for Central Coast Community Energy (3CE) and 3CE departments.
This position performs a variety of tasks and assignments, both routine and non-routine, across a number of Human Resource and Legal administrative-related functions. This position is responsible for highly confidential and sensitive information including handling personal information of 3CE's employees. A high level of trust and professionalism is expected with the ability to maintain confidentiality.

3CE is a Community Choice Aggregation agency established by local communities to source clean and renewable electricity at responsible rates for more than 1.2 million residential, commercial, and agricultural customers throughout Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara counties. 3CE is locally controlled and governed by board members who represent the communities served by the agency.

- Provides information and assistance to staff, directors, officers, and the general public regarding inquiries about human resources functions, both by phone and in writing.
- Assists in gathering, tabulating, and analyzing data; drafts reports and survey documents; answers correspondence.
- Prepares, maintains, and updates system information, databases, tracking systems, logs, correspondence, and/or other related documents.
- Follows oral or written directions.
- Exercises sound judgment within the scope of the position and rules, standards, policies, and guidelines.
- Extracts and compiles data and other information for reports; types and prepares correspondence, reports, forms, and specialized documents related to the functions of the assigned department from drafts, notes, or brief instructions;
- Proofreads and checks typed and other materials for accuracy, completeness, compliance with 3CE and departmental policies, and correct English usage, including grammar, punctuation, and spelling;
- Serves as receptionist, receiving and screening visitors and calls, provides information such as scheduling for interpretive programs and providing factual information regarding 3CE and/or assigned department activities and functions;
- Prepares and updates a variety of complex reports, which may require the use of arithmetic calculations.
- Researches, compiles, and provides tracking for information and data from departmental files, records, and reports; maintains records and processes forms;
- Maintains calendars; schedules and coordinates meetings and appointments;
- Develop systems for collecting and tracking information, projects, and pending items;
- Initiates follow-up procedures to ensure projects and other tasks are completed and deadlines met;
- Serves as liaison for other staff, departments, and outside agencies;
- Coordinates technical needs for presentations, board meetings, and conference calls;
- Implements surveys and maintains databases to record and report service numbers and trends;
- Creates, updates, and maintains filing systems and opens mail
- Sets up presentation equipment;
- May input reservation requests; and perform related duties as assigned.
Office practices and procedures; file maintenance and record-keeping systems; proper operation of office equipment, including a personal computer using Windows-based software for word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; basic math; appropriate business writing; correct English grammar, and spelling; and effective public relations skills.
Ability to:
Type accurately at a speed of 45 words per minute (net); understand and carry out written and verbal instructions; operate standard office equipment, including a personal computer using Windows-based software; ability to learn and understand pertinent procedures and functions quickly as related to division and/or department operations; furnish accurate information to others; perform under minimal supervision using appropriate judgment; work effectively under pressure in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions; accept responsibility and accountability for the performance of duties; maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those encountered in the performance of duties, including the general public.
Education and ExperienceEducation: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
Experience: Three (3) years of full-time work experience in the area of general clerical support with strong public contact experience. Supervision or administrative and technical duties usually related to the department assigned
Additional Requirements:
Basic proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is required.
Typing Certification at 45 net wpm may be required at the time of application depending upon assignment, within the last 6 months.

RETIREMENT- Employees contribute 10% of their salary on a pre-tax basis towards the PARS retirement system. Employer contributes 10% towards PARS.
HEALTH INSURANCE- 3CE offers a competitive benefit design. Which includes full dental and vision coverage. 3CE contributes up to $2400 annually towards flexible spending benefits and $3600.00 towards HRA.
HEALTH & WELLNESS- 3CE contributes $1,000 per fiscal year for health, wellness and EV reimbursement.
DEFERRED COMPENSATION- 3CE offers 457 and Roth deferred compensations.
PTO- Accrued in accordance with tenure. 160 hours cap.
CELL PHONE ALLOWANCE- This position is eligible for cell phone allowance of $50.00 monthly.
