What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Clinical Educator position at Central Coast VNA & Hospice?
Ensure appropriate professional delivery of services through the ongoing orientation, training, and instruction of clinical, clerical and management staff. Develop long and short-term plans for education and training programs. Participate in setting objectives and developing standards for Agency Performance Improvement Plans (PIP). Conduct assessments, measures performance, plan, organize, develop, and direct in-service educational programs throughout the agency. Orienting new clinical staff to the organization evaluating competency, orienting to discipline specific skills, and ensuring appropriate documentation of these activities. Provides support to help ensure successful processes throughout the Agency. Participates in setting goals and objectives actively participating in growth and development plans of the department.

Education/Experience/Skills/Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of California. Bachelor’s degree in nursing, education or health related field preferred. Possession of current CPR certification is required. Minimum 3 years of experience in Home Health/Hospice agency. Demonstrated teaching skills with current knowledge of adult learning theory. Ability to work with groups of people with understanding of organizational dynamics is essential. Must be flexible and able to adjust/adapt plans as needed to incorporate changes and/or new information. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.
