Summary
The Project Manager Intern is responsible for assisting the Project Manager with the overall design, direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project. Ensures timeliness, quality, and best available cost performance. Meets specific project program requirements and adheres to corporate construction standards.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Effectively establishes the overall project schedule in Microsoft project format, that is updated regularly and distributed to all respective contractors and leadership team
- Assist in performing regularly established site visits as required by leadership or owner requests
- Must ensure change orders are properly estimated, executed, and obtain desired signatures upon delivery
- Help assist the Project Manager with setup and direction of the internal project construction kickoff meeting with CCS leadership, estimator, sales rep, and field personnel
- Help assist the Project Manager for the site construction meeting with owner and/or subcontractors prior to construction starting
- Responsible for auditing and ensuring all daily reports by the respective site personnel are completed and submitted on a daily basis, and report any issues immediately to leadership
- Will ensure any overage or excess materials are properly returned, and or inventoried for project credits
- Will ensure their field support team have all of the necessary tools and supplies to successfully execute their project
- May be asked to help assist multiple projects at the same and in varying stages of completion and complexity
- Ensures timely and accurate contract and purchase order deliveries to all subcontractors and suppliers
- Prior to the start of a project, must review all estimates, sales notes, and pre- construction materials to ensure project may be constructed per plans, estimates, and scopes of work
- All other duties assigned
Required Qualifications:
Pursuing a Bachelor's or Associate's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or relevant field
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Practical understanding of design, constructability, logistics, sequencing means and methods
- Leadership, project, and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to travel frequently (50%)
- Ability to work independently with little direction
- Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
- Assist in develop, manage, and forecast budgets
- Help prepare cost estimates
- Financial analysis and planning
- Knowledge of purchasing and ordering
- Valid driver's license
