The Central Connecticut Coast Y is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Manager to oversee and execute the HR Department's essential functions in alignment with our mission and organizational goals. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this full-time, exempt role is responsible for:
- Leading the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring for managerial, exempt, and professional roles.
- Designing and delivering comprehensive new employee orientation programs.
- Ensuring job descriptions are accurate, compliant, and up-to-date.
- Administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.
- Overseeing employee relations activities, including disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Supervising the HR/Payroll Coordinator, providing training, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
- Managing HR systems, maintaining data accuracy, and optimizing system utilization.
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, including reporting for DOL, EEOC, and OSHA.
As a trusted advisor to leadership and staff, the HR Manager embodies and promotes the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Education and Certification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; SHRM or HRCI certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in human resources management with progressively responsible roles.
