Central Dermatology Center is hiring for a unique full-time split position as a Mohs Surgical Assistant and Hair Transplant Technician! Schedule: 4 ten-hour days Locations: Chapel Hill

Job Responsibilities
Mohs Surgical Assistant (50%)
· Assist Mohs Surgeons with patient care and surgical procedures, including room preparation, patient triage, prepping for surgery.
· Scribe in EMR, administer local anesthesia, and assist with surgical procedures.
· Provide wound care and post-operative education to patients and families.
· Sterilize instruments, ensure surgical suites are well-stocked, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
· Perform administrative duties such as returning patient calls, ensuring accurate documentation, and assisting with pathology logs.
Hair Transplant Technician (50%)
· Assist with all aspects of hair transplantation procedures, including patient preparation, graft extraction, implantation, and post-operative care.
· Support the Hair Restoration Specialist and maintain the highest standards of patient care during procedures.
· Work with Surgical Nurse Supervisor to maintain and order supplies.
· Ensure all instruments and supplies are properly sterilized and prepared for each procedure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Familiarity with EMR systems or ability to train effectively.
· Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills to foster positive working relationships with patients, staff, and providers.
· Maintains a working knowledge of all health information management issues such as HIPAA
· Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and surgical procedures.
· Responsible for ensuring excellent customer service is always provided to patients.
Working Conditions
· Work is performed in a medical office setting, requiring frequent contact with staff and patients.
· Exposure to communicable diseases, blood, body fluids, and other conditions common in a medical environment.
· Ability to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and reach above shoulders depending on the individual’s work assignments on a daily basis.
· Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time, a minimum of eight hours a day, depending on the individual’s work assignments on a daily basis.
· Ability to see, hear, speak, interact, read, write, and type sufficiently to perform the essential functions of the position.
· Physical capabilities include lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent bending/stooping, and standing for extended periods.
