Pharmacist (Float)

Title : Pharmacist (Float) FLSA : Exempt Personnel Supervised : Pharmacy Techs and Clerks POSITION SUMMARY: This position assumes responsibility for pharmacy function when on duty in accordance with applicable regulatory statutes and accreditation standards. Duties include interpretation of prescription orders, packaging, labeling, dispensing, administering and distribution of drugs and devices, while providing patient education and counseling as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy
• Florida Pharmacist License
• Computer literacy
• Understanding of use of pharmacy equipment
• Current BLSC certification

RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Be familiar with CFHC’s program philosophies, goals, and objectives. Be cognizant of and comply with all CFHC’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations.
2. Understands the requirements of CFHC’s Exposure Control Plan. Assure compliance with this plan by support staff assigned to assist you.
3. Adheres to CFHC quality policies and participates actively in quality improvement process activities.
4. Follows safety and OSHA requirements.
5. Monitors drug therapy in conformance with OBRA Act.
6. Participates in drug review and drug product selection.
7. Maintains proper and safe drug storage and maintain accurate inventory and sales records.
8. Advises physicians as needed on formulary changes.
9. Treats patients, staff, and visitors with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect.
10. Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines.
11. Reports as needed to Pharmacy Director any pertinent information or situations that impact on patient care or CFHC liability.
12. Attends and participates in mandatory CFHC meetings (Center Specific quarterly meetings, corporate meetings, and other meetings as designated by the CCO or CEO).
13. Makes recommendations to the Pharmacy Director regarding the purchase of pharmacy supplies, instruments, and equipment, and repair and/or maintenance of these.
14. Enhances professional growth and development by attending in-service meetings and continuing education programs.
15. Maintains neat and professional appearance at all times.
16. Performs any other activities deemed appropriate by the Pharmacy director, CCO or CEO.
