Position Summary:
Perform functions as assigned related to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing, Fixed Assets, Construction, and Inventory; audit, post, and analyze general ledger accounts, reconcile bank accounts, prepare budgets and financial reports. This role can be assigned one or more essential functions described below and be expected to cross train and rotate within other financial functions and with other members of the Finance Department.
***Please Note: This position is mainly preparing monthly utility bills, reviewing exception reports, providing variance analysis, and preparing other relevant monthly reports.***
Essential Functions:
- Perform all facets of the Utility, Tax, and General Billing processes.
- Prepare, analyze, and post accounting entries. Prepare periodic financial statements, and other financial reports.
- Audit and post account payable entries, and create and post check batches.
- Reconcile statements for bank and investment accounts. Record and reconcile investment activities.
- Ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses. Research, analyze, and follow up on discrepancies.
- Run general ledger reports of inventories and periodically conduct physical inventory counts to reconcile asset accounts.
- Participate in document preparation for annual departmental financial audit.
- Offer support and respond to vendor, customer, taxpayer and colleague inquires and requests via email and telephone.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Assist with annual Fixed Asset inventory; note, report, and follow up on discrepancies.
- Reconcile and post Fixed Assets, perform retirements, process depreciation, prepare lead schedules.
- Reconcile and process Construction invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and related reporting.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll, make liability payments, prepare tax filings and related reporting.
- Prepare and reconcile departmental budgets, including regular budget to actual reporting.
- Prepare documents for electronic filing into OnBase to include, scanning, ingesting, importing, and quality checks.
- Participate and lead special projects, software upgrades and implementations, committees and work groups as assigned.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Other Duties:
- Perform or assist with other accounting operations, as required to maintain workflow.
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, and policies.
- Assist with monthly and yearly accounting tasks as assigned.
Competency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, and experience with other accounting and billing software.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage work effectively by prioritizing tasks.
- Proven ability to maintain critical degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrate excellence in oral and verbal communication, with the ability to communicate clearly.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Three to five years of experience in Accounting or Finance (required)
- Regular, dependable attendance required.

Driving Requirements:

Employee sees, talk and hear as they communicate with others in person, electronically or by phone.
Employee will operate motor vehicle(s) that involve the use of hand/foot controls.
