Our Garden Segment is searching for an Accounting Manager in our Madison, GA location. This position reports to the Garden Controller and is responsible for all accounting functions including maintaining subsidiary and general ledgers, auditing and internal controls, analyzing financial position, preparing budgets, recording fixed assets, reconciling accounting records, reviewing journal payment vouchers, preparing tax returns, other related accounting work, and managing a team of Accountants.

Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for month-end financial close process, including preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements, GL account analysis, and sales and margin reporting
- Responsible for review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Manage internal and external auditors and associated schedules
- Lead and influence team to foster environment of continuous improvement
- Manage and ensure development of an assigned team of Accountants and Senior Accountants
- Assist with the preparation of monthly/yearly closings and associated reporting requirements
- Lead other process improvement projects as assigned
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of US GAAP
- Must be highly detail oriented and organized with excellent time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Professional written and verbal communication skills with a customer-first service approach.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment and develop cross-functional relationships
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal direction from Garden Controller.
- Supervision skills strongly desired
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office application; Excel expertise required
- SAP ERP exposure a plus
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- BA or BS degree required in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years Finance/Accounting experience in Manufacturing or consumer products, desired
- 3 years audit experience in public practice or firm, desired
