We are seeking a Purchasing / Inventory Office Assistant to join our Central Specialty Pet business unit located in Atlanta, Ga. The Purchasing / Inventory Office Assistant is responsible for assisting the Purchasing Office in executing the activities that will enable the business to meet sales, inventory, financial and service objectives. Collaboration with other members of the Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Support Teams is paramount to achieve these objectives.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Responsible for creating purchase orders and stock transfer orders from purchase requisitions.
- Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications and price.
- Maintains inventory levels within the tolerances set.
- Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders to suppliers.
- Follows buyers guide process to monitor, manage and expedite orders as prompted.
- Identify potential part shortages and collaborate with appropriate departments for expedited approvals.
- Monitor and maintain inventories of finished goods, components and packaging based on information provided through various sources.
- Track movement of inbound international freight from container loading to arrival and monitor for any delays due to port congestion, USDA inspections, weather, etc.
- Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves shipments in error with suppliers.
- Authorizes payment for purchases by forwarding receiving documentation.
- Provides purchasing, planning, and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.
- Maintains accuracy when entering any data.
- Uses computer interface to enter shipment information into US Customs and Border Protection and US Fish and Wildlife to obtain clearances.
- Works with logistics to arrange pick up all cleared shipments.
