Job Description
This highly collaborative position is responsible for coordinating, developing and implementing the CLC Pregnant and Parenting Student Support Grant Initiative which serves current and incoming students who have dependent children. The incumbent will collaborate and connect students to college resources, work with grant interns and student workers, college staff and faculty, community resources and social service entities. This position establishes relationships with community entities, provides advocacy and direct support to students, and will assess and monitor students’ needs. This position assists the Title IX Office and Accessibility Services in implementing Pregnant and Parenting Student support as required under Title IX and Minnesota Statute.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two or more years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor’s degree may substitute for one (1) year experience.
- Demonstrated success in fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
- Excellent communication skills including verbal, written, and interpersonal.
- Demonstrated initiative and experience in project development.
- Excellent administrative skills including ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working with and knowledge of community resources whose services provide support of basic needs to individuals and families.
Preferred Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years’ experience working with children and families, case management, or program development.
- Knowledge of Title IX policies, specific to pregnant and parenting students.
- Experience working in Higher Education.
- Knowledge of equity and diversity issues and emerging trends and best practices.
- Experience with program development and assessment.
- Demonstrated experience with conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of Minnesota State system policies and procedures.
Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)
Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day, 8:00-4:30 with some evenings as needed.
