What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASST DIRECTOR/HOUSING ASSIGNMENTS/RESIDENCE LIFE position at Central Michigan University?
Reporting to the Director of Residence Life, the Assistant Director of Housing Assignments for Residence Life has primary responsibility for directing the administrative support services for the Office of Residence Life, including assignments, billing, and marketing. The Assistant Director must be able to respond to campus within 60 minutes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience that equates to four years.
Three years of professional experience including supervisory experience

Previous experience with StarRez software and SAP software.

Duties & Responsibilities
Serves as a member of the Director’s leadership team.
Supervises two assignments coordinators, one for the residence halls and one for the apartments, including performance appraisal, time card approval, vacation/sick leave requests, staff meetings and ongoing one- on-one meetings with all direct reports.
Indirectly supervises the office support staff and student support staff.
Coordinates providing students with services and support as it relates to their assignment.
Manages and directs all functions related to residence hall and apartment assignments for students including the coordination of assignments, initiation of policies related to assignment priorities and procedures, and interpretation of policy to students, staff, and parents.
Oversees departmental housing charges and meal plans, student account billing and appeal review for special circumstances through petitions and appeals.
Provides direction in revising marketing and communication pieces related to on-campus housing.
Addresses student and parent concerns with regards to billing and determine resolution in a timely manner.
Manages and supervises department-wide purchasing procedures; supervise staff in reconciling monthly financial reports; supervise account to account transfers.
Liaison to the following offices: Student Disability Services, Internal Auditing, Auxiliary Services, Central Card Office.
