What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enterprise Risk Analyst position at Central Mutual Insurance Company?
Location: Van Wert, OH
The Enterprise Risk Analyst will join an engaged team that is focused on driving insights and leaning into the strategy to achieve Underwriting Excellence. The position will focus on understanding all facets of risk across operational, investment and underwriting risk.
How You'll Make an Impact
Support Corporate ERM operations by preparing risk/return analysis and scenarios testing in accordance with defined standards; This would involve working with underwriting, investment, and reinsurance data
Clearly and effectively communicate model findings, recommendations, and observations to functional area managers through summaries, reports, and presentations
Conclude the reasonableness of model outputs through various techniques including sensitivity analysis, benchmarking, and back-testing
Assist with reviewing the results of model validation activities performed by third parties (i.e. actuarial, regulatory agencies, external consultants, etc.)
Contribute to the development of analytical techniques, processes, and concepts to ensure the organization has effective tools to evaluate and mitigate risk
Assist with the preparation of Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA)
Ability to leverage tools and resources, such as S&P Global, to provide industry and peer analysis.
Participate on cross-functional teams to meet operational objectives, as assigned.
What You'll Bring
Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Actuarial Science, Insurance & Risk Management or related field
Or Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Actuarial Science, Insurance & Risk Management or related field and 2 years of experience in analytical capacity (ex: business/financial analysis, product management, actuarial, underwriting)
Or 4 years of experience in analytical capacity (ex: business/financial analysis, product management, actuarial, underwriting)
Possesses analytical and problem-solving skills
Possesses verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation, and influence skills
Possesses multi-tasking and prioritization skills
Ability to understand Central Insurance’s policies and processes
Analysis of scenarios and potential outcomes, including likelihoods
Strong analytical aptitude; judge the reasonability of analysis and data
Preferred
P&C Industry experience, a background in Underwriting, Actuarial or Analytics preferred.
Experience with statistical/analytics software such as Microsoft SQL Server & Management Studio, R, Python, SAS, and Microsoft Power BI preferred
Excellent analytical aptitude; judge the reasonability of analysis and data
CPCU, ARe, or ARM Designation
