What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medicaid Specialist position at Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging?
The ideal candidate will have experience with:
- Medicaid eligibility criteria
- Medicaid Information Technology System (MITS) familiarity.
- OB system familiarity
- Waiver Programs, including PASSPORT, Assisted Living Waiver, and MyCare Ohio
In this non-clinical role, the candidate will communicate with the Jobs & Family Services (JFS) to obtain eligibility updates and manage enrollment and de-enrollment processes within the Medicaid Information Technology System.
The candidate will also monitor various reports and notices related to Medicaid redeterminations, ensuring the team is promptly alerted to any interruptions in eligibility. Additionally, they will assist Licensed Social Workers with client recommendations, follow-up, and manage transitions between waiver programs.
Selected candidates will be considered for the Aetna program.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have a Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
AND
- Possession of an Associate's degree in one of the social or health care sciences
OR
- A minimum of two years of experience assisting individuals with accessing healthcare, social, or personal services may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A minimum of at least one year of customer service experience
- Experience working with Microsoft Excel
