Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a full time Epic Principal Trainer at our central business office in Westerville, OH. Under the direction of the Epic Training Manager, this position is responsible for working with application coordinators and other employees / physicians, to develop and maintain the training program curricula for the roles in their assigned application and to ensure alignment with COPC’s training standards. In addition to training development, the Principal Trainer is responsible for continued improvements and maintenance of the training curriculum resulting from system changes, enhancements and upgrades; as well as to verify the training content and environment is accurate and up-to-date with the end-user experience. This position also supports the classroom trainers by training them in how to teach the curricula and to collaborate on training material development and implementation projects. Additionally, the Principal Trainer conducts immersive site support visits to work with end-users and is also expected to run classroom training courses for end-users when assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develop role-based training curricula and content, independently or with team members, using a variety of software programs, tools, and applications (e.g., Microsoft Office); including multimedia deliverables to support in-person or virtual instructor led training, self- paced online training, and other adoption initiatives for a variety of audiences as assigned.
- Build, test, and maintain training environments (e.g., MST, ACE), and provide support and troubleshoot identified issues.
- Design, develop, and maintain instructional materials that may involve learning new content and consulting with subject matter experts to develop training materials and answer questions.
- Develop and analyze assessments, evaluations, and other feedback mechanisms to determine the effectiveness of education deliverables and their delivery methods; provide recommendations for and / or institute improvements in accordance with best practices to achieve education goals.
- Incorporate feedback from others into existing training and training administration procedures.
- Collaborate with other trainers by co-facilitating classroom instruction and assist with exercises as needed.
- Present information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
- Maintain policy and procedure documentation.
- Follow up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support. Conduct routine immersive site visits to engage in end users’ application of Epic in live patient environments.
- Serve as a subject expert and educator to staff on assigned application(s).
- Assist with training and credentialing additional classroom trainers as needed.
- Conduct classroom training of assigned application(s) to staff and end users, which includes preparing training lessons, printing materials, and setting up the training room and environment prior to the training session.
- Provide cross training for classroom instruction for other application(s).
- Manage projects by prioritizing projects and creating and adhering to designated timelines.
- Administer refresher, optimization, and skills enhancement training in either classroom setting or one-on-one training conditions.
