A bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education in computer & information science (CIS), business, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline.
In some cases, in lieu of the applicant’s having a bachelor’s degree, the College will consider, as appropriate, associate degrees coupled with related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that are relevant to the subject matter to be taught.
Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff.
Willingness to teach and communicate using a variety of instructional modes, email and online learning management systems.
Commitment to meeting students’ learning needs and empowering students in their learning endeavors.
Personal and educational philosophy compatible with the mission, values, goals, and objectives of Central Ohio Technical College.

The part-time faculty member is responsible for providing professional, quality work as a teaching faculty member. Work includes facilitating student learning by conducting and teaching general education courses at the undergraduate level, many of which are designed to transfer to a baccalaureate degree; using active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course; assessing student learning, and providing academic assistance to students as needed.
