Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated, energetic, and organized medical office receptionist to join our Primary Care private practice. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service while managing front desk operations in a fast-paced medical environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, and familiarity with a medical office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients with warmth and positive energy, ensuring a good first impression.
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, collecting copayments, and managing the waiting room and patient flow.
  • Handle phone systems effectively to answer calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using an electronic health record system
  • Assist with administrative duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff, especially in stressful situations.
  • Familiarity with phone systems and multi-line telephones.
  • Knowledge of healthcare systems and software applications
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with commercial insurance processes and ability to explain charges and payments, as well as answer insurance questions for patients.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional relationship with coworkers.
  • Ability to treat all patients equally and with the utmost care, respect, and professionalism.
