Director of Logistics

About the Role:

This senior-level position oversees the entire logistics operation, focusing on delivering exceptional customer experiences through optimized inbound, outbound, and customer delivery logistics. The successful candidate will drive strategic directions for the asset-based fleet, monitor key performance indicators, and lead the Logistics team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop a comprehensive strategy for the logistics group, including a 5-year vision and business plan.
• Design and implement an effective supply chain, encompassing logistics, staging, and trucking asset utilization.
• Improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet business objectives and support company goals.
• Oversee and manage all fleet operations, including trucks, equipment, vehicles, and forklifts.
• Negotiate and manage vendor relationships for equipment and tool leases and purchases.
• Collaborate with the leadership team to enhance business operations and serve customer needs.
• Lead, develop, and motivate the Logistics team, comprising managers, supervisors, coordinators, and drivers.
• Drive cost reductions and operational efficiencies within Logistics, in partnership with Finance.
• Educate and train the logistics network on regulatory compliance and best practices.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or Operations Management, plus eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven track record of leadership and team management.
• Exceptional knowledge of logistics techniques, process improvement methodologies, and project management principles.
• Manufactured-to-Order supply chain experience.
• Asset-based fleet management expertise.
• Strategic planning skills.
