Job Summary:
The Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Director of the Center for Safe Schools. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of education and community outreach in our region.
About the Role:
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic initiatives that align with CSIU priorities.
- Oversee daily operations, sustainable funding strategies, and revenue-generating initiatives while supervising professional staff.
- Serve on the Center for Schools and Communities leadership team and represent CSS on regional school safety committees.
Responsibilities:
- Project Development and Planning: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of CSS projects, including grant administration, training, resource development, and technical assistance.
- Project Management and Supervision: Oversee planning and execution of CSS initiatives, manage project budgets, ensure compliance with contracts and regulations, and supervise assigned staff.
- Inter-Project Coordination: Facilitate resources and services between related youth-serving programs, represent the Chief Programs Officer, and work collaboratively with CSC leadership to promote the maintenance and growth of the CSC.
Requirements:
- Minimum requirements include a Master's degree in education or a related field, 10 years of relevant experience, and 3 years of direct supervisory experience.
- Extensive knowledge of school safety and climate issues, specifically threat assessments, training, and experience in effective youth violence prevention, bullying prevention, and other school safety practices.
- Excellent critical and analytical thinking skills, understanding of program evaluation methodologies, adult learning theories, and organizational training.
