What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community Outreach Assistant position at UPMC?
The Community Paramedicine Program is looking for a new part time Community Outreach Assistant to join their supportive team. This position will travel weekly between the Dauphin and York regions for community outreach. Reliable transportation is a must.
This individual will occasionally take vitals and labs, open to training those without this experience. Applicant needs to be open to learning these skills.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, flexible hours anywhere from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., no weekends, holidays, or evenings!
Purpose:
Assist in all functions of the community outreach that are essential to the operations of the department: communication, office organization, community activities, processes and procedures, reports, public relations and healthcare applications
Responsibilities:
- Assisting paramedic with follow up phone calls regarding medication, transportation, appointments, etc.
- Assist and co-facilitate at community outreach.
- Support the Paramedicine team with patient related matters.
- Refer clients to the appropriate community resources to receive the services they need/request on behalf of the hospital, Community Paramedicine Program.
- Attend meetings, provide input, participate in partnership events.
- Assist all office staff as needed and requested.
