What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saw Operator position at Central Tube And Bar Inc?
The Saw Operator duties will include setting up and inspecting equipment, installing blades, precise measuring of length to cut based on assigned specifications and operating various machinery, including routers and grinders.
- Operating saws in a safe manner
- Bundling material as it comes off saw for shipping or stock.
- Keeping accurate labels and counts on bundles and tubs.
- Adequately filling out processing forms and submitting accordingly.
- Notifying management of any needed repairs to equipment
- General assistance in warehouse
- Daily inspection and cleanup after each job and shift
- Knowledge of proper tape measuring
- General understanding of gauges and color codes
- Ability to dial calipers and micrometers.
- Knowledge of decimal equivalents for fractions, inches, and their conversions
- General knowledge of different steel types
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
