Job Title: Childcare Teacher
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 30 – 40 per week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate childcare teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment for young children while implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities. This role requires strong communication skills, a commitment to early childhood education, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and experiences that promote learning and development.
- Consistent attendance and reliability
- Foster a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
- Supervise and actively engage children in educational and recreational activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary learning space.
- Provide attentive and developmentally appropriate caregiving, including diapering, potty training, meal preparation, and feeding.
- Utilize positive behavior management techniques in accordance with early childhood best practices.
- Conduct regular parent-teacher conferences to discuss child development and progress.
- Address and resolve parent concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Attend and actively participate in monthly staff meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
- Complete 15 hours of professional development annually through the Professional Development Registry (PDR).
- Adhere to all state licensing regulations and organizational policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in teaching or childcare (preferred).
- Previous experience working in a licensed childcare facility (preferred).
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development milestones.
- Familiarity with Arkansas Early Learning Standards.
- Excellent classroom management and curriculum development skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively.
- Consistent attendance and reliability
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Certification
- CPR Certification (will provide certification if needed)
