What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Auditing Specialist - York, NE position at Central Valley Ag Cooperative?
PURPOSE
As an Internal Auditing Specialist at Central Valley Ag, you will be responsible for supporting the Director of Business System Optimization’s direction, coordination and evaluation of our internal audit process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform internal audits for assigned Division(s) and/or Region(s) on a routine schedule. Examine records and processes at locations to ensure timely recording of transactions and compliance with applicable standard operating procedures. Follow up audits as requested or required based upon scores. Document answers and sampling and communicate results to the applicable managers as outlined in the Internal Audit procedures.
- Examines records of departments and interview employees to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with applicable laws.
- Inspects accounting systems to determine their efficiency and proper employee security.
- Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, management policies and procedures.
- Prepares reports of findings and recommendations for management.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates and expedites workflow.
- Examines work for exactness, neatness and conformance to policies and procedures.
- Conducts special studies for management.
- Communicates with managers, supervisors, co-workers, patrons and others and maintains confidentiality and represents Central Valley Ag.
- Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
