Description
The Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department. This role is responsible for managing maintenance activities on machinery, equipment, and facilities to ensure optimal production efficiency, reduce downtime, and maintain a safe working environment. The supervisor will lead a team of technicians to ensure all systems, from furnace operations to automated cutting packing lines, are functioning reliably.

Supervisory Responsibilities :
Supervise and direct a team of maintenance personnel, ensuring effective task execution and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Provide training and development to maintenance team members.
Schedule and prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, production schedules, and equipment downtime.
Key Responsibilities :
Preventive Maintenance :
Assist in developing and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and systems.
Assist in scheduling regular inspections of key machinery, equipment, and facilities to identify potential issues, and take preemptive action to prevent equipment failures and unscheduled downtime.
Repairs & Troubleshooting :
Respond quickly and effectively to machine breakdowns and ensure that downtime is minimized.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems across the facility.
Oversee repairs to ensure that they are completed promptly and to the highest standards.
Maintain detailed logs of all repairs and maintenance activities.
Safety & Compliance :
Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Monitor and enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety protocols.
Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Inventory Management :
Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, ensuring that parts and tools are readily available.
Order and stock spare parts to minimize downtime during repairs.
Control costs and find ways to reduce expenses without compromising quality or safety.
Reporting & Documentation :
Prepare regular maintenance reports for upper management, highlighting performance metrics such as downtime, repair costs, and completed tasks.
Qualifications :
Education : High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or facilities role within a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Skills :
Strong technical knowledge in mechanics, electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, or other relevant fields.
Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex machinery.
Excellent leadership and communication skills with a track record of effectively managing a maintenance team.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Work Environment :
Work in a fast-paced, high-temperature industrial environment.
Exposure to noise, heat, and potentially hazardous materials (glass, chemicals, etc.).
Flexible hours may be necessary, especially during emergencies or peak production times.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift and carry equipment, tools, and materials (up to 50 lbs).
Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods.
