Job Summary:
The Kill Floor Trainer is responsible for training new and existing employees on all aspects of harvest floor operations within a beef processing facility. This includes ensuring adherence to safety standards, animal welfare guidelines, proper cutting and processing techniques, and company policies. The trainer plays a vital role in developing a skilled workforce and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Train employees on proper stunning, bleeding, hide removal, evisceration, and carcass splitting techniques.

Provide hands-on instruction on safe and humane animal handling in compliance with USDA and company standards.

Ensure all trainees understand and follow safety and PPE protocols.

Monitor trainee progress and provide feedback and coaching to improve performance and consistency.

Demonstrate correct usage and maintenance of knives and other processing tools.

Collaborate with supervisors and QA staff to ensure product quality and process control.

Document training progress and maintain training records for compliance audits.

Conduct refresher training sessions as needed.

Assist with onboarding of new employees to the kill floor.

Help identify skills gaps and recommend additional training or cross-training opportunities.
Qualifications:

2 years of experience in beef processing, specifically on the kill floor.

Previous training or lead experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of USDA regulations and humane handling practices.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in cold, wet, and physically demanding environments.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.

Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
Work Environment:

Exposure to cold/hot temperatures, blood, raw meat, and noise.

Standing for long periods; frequent lifting, bending, and use of knives and equipment.
