POSITION TITLE: Anticipated Electrical Technology Instructor
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Holds and maintains or Eligible to hold a valid Vermont State Educator License
- Holds a minimum of an Associate’s degree or its equivalent
- Holds the Industry Credential/Electrician’s License
- Five or more years of recent industry experience in the electrical field and familiarity with VT Electrical Code
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledgeable and skilled in content and experience training
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and times as designated.
- Plan a program of study that meets the interests, needs, and abilities of the students and follows the established curriculum as written by the district and the state.
- Ability to work in a team and to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with staff, students, and parents.
- Ability to supervise students in both the classroom and lab areas.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and maintain such records as required by law and district policy.
- Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of the students.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Working knowledge of the Vermont State Proficiencies and the VT Agency of Education CTE Competencies required.
- Experience with classroom management to ensure the safety of all students.
- Understanding student learning differences.
- Patience and persistence.
- Ability to access and utilize technology.
- Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules of the school and district.
- Take all reasonable precautions to provide for the health and safety of the students and to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The annual Salary is competitive in Vermont and is determined based on experience. This is a school-year position covered by the local Education Association collective bargaining agreement.
