POSITION TITLE:Coordinator of Adult Programs
SUPERVISED BY:Director and Assistant Director of CVCC
SUPERVISES:Adult Program Instructors and Support Staff
WORKS WITH:Director and Assistant Director; Technical Center staff; School Counseling Coordinator and Student Support Coordinator; area High School Counselors; Agencies that work with the disadvantaged; unemployed and underemployed; Businesses and industries in the greater Central Vermont Area; Adult and Technical Instructors.
BASIC FUNCTION:The Coordinator of Adult Programs is responsible for the coordination of instruction and services for all adults enrolled at the Central Vermont Career Center (CVCC).
MAJOR TASKS:
A:Instructional Program
Assists in planning and developing programs of training in the Center and the community that meet the needs of adult students
Works with CVCC Instructors to coordinate appropriate curriculum and materials as needed for adult students. Obtain input as to how the programs can be improved.
Works with the Director and Assistant Director in establishing curriculum and procedures for evening school and summer courses
Participates in CVCC short and long term planning
Coordinates building use for all after hours activities
B. Personnel Services
Develops customized training for business and industry
Recruits teachers for adult programming
Coordinates guidance and placement of adults in appropriate classes
C. Student Services
Markets to, recruits and enrolls adults
Acts as a mentor and counselor for adults enrolled in classes as needed
Arranges for educational support services and referrals for adults
Counsels adults to develop and implement a plan for education and work as needed
D.Community – Public Relations
Represents the System at designated meetings and organizations
Coordinates the publication of the Adult Education Brochure
Assists the Director as business, industry and economic development liaison
Performs necessary public relations functions, including consultation with advisory committees
E.General
Performs duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director; including potential support of Co-Op students and program.
Flexible hours scheduled according to position needs
Bachelor’s degree required with 3-5 years experience in:
Technical Education
Adult Education
Business or Industrial Experience
Good communication skills: written, oral and interpersonal
Salary : $18,000 - $22,000
