Central Virginia Community College is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. CVCC is a comprehensive two-year institution of higher education with an enrollment of approximately 5,000 students in occupational/technical programs and university-parallel/college transfer programs.
Central Virginia Community College is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented General Administration Coordinator to join the Office of the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of the office of the Vice President, ensuring smooth workflow and providing effective support for both academic and administrative functions. This role requires exceptional organizational and communication skills, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and experience with office management software and systems.
- Oversee daily office operations to ensure efficient support for academic and administrative functions.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed in order of importance.
- Provide guidance and support to division staff, offering direction and assistance as needed.
- Maintain and update academic records, utilizing student information systems, academic catalogs, and related processes.
- Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, and students, addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Coordinate logistics and event planning for office-related functions, meetings, and academic events.
- Assist with financial operations, including budget tracking, faculty workload and compensation management, procurement, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as required by the department.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other common office software applications.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, budget management, procurement, and HR practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of supporting and guiding teams to foster collaboration.
- Experience in event planning and project coordination with a focus on efficiency and organization.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant office experience in similar roles

Salary : $54,000 - $61,000
