Your Role at a Glance
As a Commercial Loan Officer, you’ll guide members through the lending process, assess creditworthiness, and ensure compliance with regulations. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining a strong loan portfolio while fostering long-term business relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Loan Processing & Credit Analysis (30%) – Conduct credit reviews, analyze financials, negotiate terms, and prepare loan proposals for approval.
Portfolio Development & Relationship Management (20%) – Develop and maintain the commercial loan portfolio, work closely with business members, and assist in early delinquency management.
Compliance & Documentation (15%) – Ensure all loan files comply with regulatory requirements and Credit Union policies.
Reporting & Feedback (10%) – Provide insights to leadership, prepare reports, and suggest improvements to policies and procedures.
Departmental Oversight (10%) – Support smooth daily operations and work collaboratively with the team.
Knowledge Maintenance & Compliance (10%) – Stay up-to-date on regulations, attend training, and continuously improve expertise.
Other Duties (5%) – Step in where needed to support the team and Credit Union initiatives.
What You Bring to the Table
-Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
-Experience in commercial loan underwriting (minimum 2 years required, 5 years preferred).
-Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
-Knowledge of accounting principles, financial concepts, and regulatory requirements for business lending.
-Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database operations.
-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience).
