ROLE:
The Billing Clerk plays a key role in ensuring the efficient financial operations of the behavioral health facility by supporting billing, payment processing, and patient financial services. The Billing Clerk collaborates with various departments to streamline the revenue cycle, ensuring that claims are processed accurately and timely, and that payments and reimbursements are tracked and managed effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Highschool Diploma or GED required
• Associate’s degree in finance, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software platforms and their integration into billing systems
• CPC (coding); demonstrated ICD-10 proficiency; Experience with ICD-10 and behavioral health CPT codes, and healthcare reimbursement practices.
• Familiarity with insurance processes (Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, etc.).

The Billing Clerk's responsibilities include claims processing, billing, payment posting, denial management, patient account management, collections, data entry, reporting, and ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local billing regulations as well as HIPPA standards.
