The Sentinel is a family run newspaper that serves a five county area in Southern Illinois and has been in operation for over 150 years. The Circulation Department has an opening for a full time Circulation Clerk in the Centralia office. The Circulation Department is responsible for the distribution of and payment for newspapers, both subscription delivery and single copy sales at retailers.
Position Summary:
Maintain customer satisfaction for subscribers and non-subscribers by fulfilling subscription orders, responding to subscriber concerns and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities:
- Responding to customer inquiries in person, over the telephone, and by email
- Maintain customer satisfaction
- Collects and records payments from subscribers and balances daily
- Light bookkeeping and record keeping
- Inputs billing and customer information into the circulation software
- Prepares and mails subscription renewals weekly
- Related duties as required
- Cross trains in other jobs for backup purposes or related duties
Qualifications:
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Organization skills
- Good phone and customer service skills
- Detail oriented
- Math and computer skills
- Experience in related fields is a plus, but not required. We will train the right person.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 per hour
