JOB DESCRIPTION – Administrative Assistant
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Communicate the Gospel and carry out the mission of the church.
· The primary responsibility is the safety and security of the children and the school.
· The Administrative Assistant will work Monday through Friday, from 8:30 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. and will follow the preschool calendar for holidays and closings (Except parent conference days). The Admin Assistant’s contract will be August – June and have the month of July off. The Administrative Assistant must attend the back-to-school night in August for parents, our Trunk or Treat in October and our Kindergarten Readiness Meeting in January.
The job of the Admin Assistant is divided into 3 categories: Daily, Often, and Occasional. Below are some
1. Daily, the AA will:
- Take care of children – sick, injured, bathroom trips, and wet clothes
- Clean off theplayground or set up the ROC
- Manage staff on the carpool line
- Keep all supply areas organized
- As time permits help teachers in the preparation of classroom materials
- Other duties as assigned
2. Often, the AA will:
- Converse with parents about carpool, registration, allergy information, etc.
- Contact families during preschool hours regarding an injured or sick child that needs to be picked up
- Track and order all supplies like preschool paper and project supplies, stickers, paper cups, napkins, and cleaning supplies, toys/books, classroom equipment. Keep classrooms and supply rooms always stocked
- Track teacher plans weekly and have items prepared and ready
- Work with CUMC facilities team to ensure the needs of preschool are met for special events, building clean up, and safety
- Other duties as assigned
3. Occasionally, the AA will:
- Substitute in a classroom or for the Director
- Coordinate special events, including Halloween Parade, Thanksgiving Feast, eye tests, Art Show, Graduation, and organizing closets
- Change hall bulletin boards
- Laminate, take pictures, organize toys and supplies, fix books and boxes
- Assist the Director as needed in the office and represent the school when the director is out.
- Assist in June planning with teachers as needed and providing plans to the Director for approval
- Other duties as assigned
· The Office Assistant is required to complete CPR, First Aide, AED, Medication Administration Training (MAT) and Daily Health Observation certifications, which can be included in the 16 hours of continued education required each year.
Must be fingerprinted and complete a criminal background check
