Role :
To assist members with their loan applications; process and make loan disbursements.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
E 35% To assist members with their loan applications; process and make loan disbursements.
E 15% Reviews residential loan application files to verify that application data is complete and meets credit union standards, including type and amount of mortgage, borrower assets, liabilities, and length of employment; recommends that loans not meeting standards be denied.
E 15% Calls specified companies to obtain property abstract, survey, and appraisal; informs supervisor of discrepancies in title or survey.
E 15% Calls or writes credit bureau and employer to verify accuracy of information. E 10% Prepares and mails approval and denial letters to applicants.
E 5% Records data on status of loans, including number of new applications and loans approved, canceled, or denied.
N 5% Performs other related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements :
- To produce loan documents, reports, and new accounts in a timely fashion, with minimal errors.
- To prepare file for underwriting within 3 days of receipt.
- To assist Mortgage Loan Officers in organizing and completing mortgage files within the prescribed time frame to close loan.
- To maintain a professional, courteous, and friendly atmosphere for members and co-workers.
- To maintain working knowledge of all mortgage products and rates, both within the credit union and from the industry overall.
- To return all call within 24 hours of receipt.
- To provide friendly, accurate professional service to members and Credit Union associates.
- To maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
Knowledge and Skills :
Experience Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
Education A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and / or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
Other Skills Must have good communication skills. Ten key calculator, typewriter and keyboard skills.
Maintain current registration under NMLS.
