What This Role Is All About
We’re looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) Intern who’s eager to learn the ropes of sales in a high-growth tech company. This isn’t a “grab coffee and take notes” kind of internship—you’ll be on the front lines, reaching out to potential customers, helping build relationships, and learning how to drive real business results. If you’ve ever wondered how deals get started and what it takes to sell cutting-edge technology, this is your chance to find out.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Finding the right people – Research and identify potential customers who could benefit from our cybersecurity solutions.
• Starting conversations – Conduct outreach through cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn to introduce Centripetal and spark interest.
• Laying the groundwork – Qualify prospects and schedule meetings for our sales team.
• Keeping things organized – Update our CRM (HubSpot) with lead and prospect info.
• Measuring success – Track outreach metrics and analyze performance to see what’s working.
• Teaming up – Work with our Sales and Marketing teams to refine messaging and outreach strategies.
• Sharpening your skills – Participate in meetings, training sessions, and real-world sales experiences that will prepare you for a future in business development.
What You’ll Get Out of It
• Real-world sales experience – Learn how B2B sales work in one of the most in-demand industries.
• A crash course in cybersecurity – Understand how companies protect themselves from cyber threats (no IT background needed!).
• Mentorship & networking – Get hands-on coaching from experienced sales professionals and cybersecurity experts.
• Career opportunities – If you’re a great fit, this could turn into a full-time role after the internship.
Who You Are
• Curious & driven – You’re eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions.
• A great communicator – You can hold a conversation, whether it’s over email, LinkedIn, or a phone call.
• Comfortable with outreach – You don’t mind picking up the phone or sending that first message.
• Detail-oriented – You can juggle multiple tasks and keep things organized.
• Tech-savvy (or willing to learn) – Experience with HubSpot or any CRM is a huge plus, but we’ll train you if needed.
Requirements
• Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
• Available for 20 hours per week in-office during the internship.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
