What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Centrix Inc.?
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our Quality Assurance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of products throughout all phases of the production process from raw materials to finished products. This includes conducting incoming, in-process, and final inspections. The ideal candidate will also support continuous improvement efforts and work directly with suppliers to resolve any discrepancies. Overtime on weekends may be required as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct receiving inspections of raw materials, sub-assemblies, and label copies.
- Perform in-process and final inspections of work orders, sub-assemblies, and final packaged goods.
- Carry out First Article Inspections (FAI).
- Manage and maintain QA documentation (e.g., DHR records).
- Review and approve all associated documentation.
- Inspect OEM and customer documentation packages.
- Interface with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and verify certification status.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in customer complaint investigations.
- Maintain calibration and retain records.
- Create and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Perform other duties as required to support quality objectives.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Strong mechanical/technical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and inspection plans.
- Proficiency with standard mechanical measuring tools (e.g., calipers, optical comparators).
- Solid understanding of inspection and sampling techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain close attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite or related software) for data entry and report generation.
- Understanding of medical device industry standards, including ISO 13485 and FDA GMP.
- Ability to meet inspection and manufacturing time restraints.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma required (technical school or related education preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Manufacturing.
- Experience in a medical device environment is a plus.
Salary : $39,000 - $47,000
