POSITION DESCRIPTION
Centro Cultural’s Grants Manager tells the story of Centro’s work and why we do what we do. The Grants Manager brings investment to our community to address the challenges we face, supporting all aspects of institutional giving for the organization. With support from the Development Director, the Grants Manager plans and implements the organization’s grant strategy. The Grants Manager is also the primary grant writer for the organization and is supported by the Development Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Writing and Strategy Development
- Research and identify new funding opportunities, lead the efforts in tracking existing funders, and maintain comprehensive records of current and prospective grantors.
- Align funding opportunities with Centro’s programmatic needs, ensuring a strategic approach to grant acquisition.
- Develop and maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines, reporting requirements, and renewal opportunities.
Grant Proposal Development & Submission
- Lead the preparation, drafting, proofreading, and submission of grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funder guidelines and Centro’s mission.
- Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary input, compile data, and develop compelling narratives.
- Work closely with Centro’s Finance team to create accurate budgets and financial reports for grant applications.
- Ensure timely and complete submission of all required documents and materials.
Grant Reporting & Compliance
- Gather and synthesize program impact data, statistics, and narratives to prepare and submit grant reports.
- Maintain an organized database of past proposals, frequently used content, and reporting templates for efficiency.
Data Management & Collaboration
- Support the development and maintenance of tracking systems for grant metrics, funder communications, and reporting deadlines.
- Work closely with senior leadership to identify funding priorities and strategically allocate resources.
- Ensure strong external communication with funders and internal alignment across departments.
Additional Responsibilities
- Contribute to broader fundraising and development initiatives as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Centro’s mission and financial sustainability.

- Understanding of Washington County Latino community and ability to convey program goals and activities with cultural sensitivity
- Bachelors Degree, preferred
- 3 years of experience in grant writing and managing the full life cycle of private foundation grants and government contracts
- 3 years of project management experience with ability to meet deadlines, anticipate quickly changing needs and communicate effectively and in a timely fashion
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptionally organized with a high attention to detail
- Highly motivated, resourceful, flexible, open-minded, and easily able to adapt to change
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of positivity, ethics, integrity, diplomacy, and initiative
- Knowledge of Microsoft products, Google Suite, and Zoom
- Bilingual, English-Spanish preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is approximately 85% in an office environment and 15% in community locations for development activities. Office working conditions are standard for an office environment. Community locations may include events requiring interacting with a large number of people. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will:
- Engage in regular communication in person as well as through electronic means
- Routinely use computer laptops, tablets, desk phones, photocopiers and monitors, including digital screens
- Ability to sit and stand for long periods
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
