Key Responsibilities:
- Design and carry out a thorough on-site safety plan aligned with existing safety standards.
- Perform frequent walkthroughs of the job site to verify adherence to health and safety laws.
- Manage the safety framework at the construction location, ensuring all protocols are in place and functioning.
- Spot risks or unsafe practices early and take steps to remove or reduce them.
- Make sure all staff members are educated on safety rules and guidelines.
- Keep detailed records of any incidents or injuries and submit required reports to authorities.
- Stay informed on the latest laws, regulations, and safety innovations in the field.
- Lead detailed reviews of accidents or safety breaches and suggest ways to avoid repeat incidents.
- Ensure all safety gear and equipment on-site is in good working condition and regularly maintained.
- Act as a liaison with official agencies and manage all communications regarding site safety matters.
- Create and share safety manuals, bulletins, and reports with the workforce and stakeholders.
- Deliver safety orientation sessions and training for new hires and visitors.
- Lead the planning and execution of emergency drills and response strategies.
- Evaluate subcontractor safety plans and verify they meet required standards.
- Oversee the safety department's spending and make wise use of funds and resources.
- Be the go-to person for workers to voice any safety-related issues or questions.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- A bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Construction, or a related field — or a minimum of 5 years managing safety at construction sites.
- OSHA 30-hour certification for Construction is mandatory.
- Additional certifications like CSP, ASP, or CHST are a plus.
- Solid understanding of OSHA guidelines and local/national safety laws.
- Certified in First Aid and CPR.
- Proven experience in crafting and running safety education programs.
- Skilled in carrying out safety audits and job site reviews.
- Strong grasp of risk evaluation and hazard detection.
- Able to create and apply custom safety strategies tailored to site needs.
- Effective communicator with strong people skills.
- Experienced in writing incident reports and leading safety investigations.
- Comfortable with safety-related software tools and Microsoft Office programs.
- Natural leader who can inspire teams to maintain high safety standards.
- Capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Physically able to access various site areas, including climbing and moving through uneven terrain and outdoor conditions.
- Available to respond to safety incidents beyond normal work hours if required.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
