Annual Salary: $$135,200 to $149,760 Depending on Experience
MHM Services, a Centurion company, is proud to be the provider of mental health services to the California Department of State Hospitals-Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Program (FACT). The FACT program is a statewide system that provides an unlocked, supervised living environment with 24-hour staffing. FACT's model of care is centralized services with a slow transition to community-based services. Services needed to support community reintegration include but are not limited to the following:
- Forensic mental health treatment through individual and group therapy settings
- Life skills training
- Day socialization groups
- Collateral contacts
- Home visits
- Substance abuse screenings
- Psychiatric services
- Case Management
- Court reports
- Psychological assessments
Under the Direction of the Program Manager, the Program Director supervises the FACT program. Acting as the court liaison and directing client treatment/supervision. Guides multidisciplinary wellness and recovery treatment planning, violence risk assessment, expert witness testimony, and crisis management. Provides administrative guidance and supervision of clinical and administrative staff to ensure mental health and community integration needs of FACT clients are met. Responsible for supervision of housing staff in 24/7 housing facilities.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee the FACT program and will supervise all clinical and non-clinical staff at their designated 24/7 housing facilities.
- Coordinates provision and documentation of core services according to FACT client’s service level, at the duration and frequency required by FACT policy/Manuals, including forensic individual contacts; group contacts; case management services; collateral contacts; random and unannounced substance abuse screenings; annual case reviews; and psychiatric services.
- Hold Collaboration Meetings with clients’ home CONREP sites.
- Coordinates development and regular review/revision of individualized wellness and recovery treatment plan through multidisciplinary treatment team consultation and collaboration with the client.
- Provide expert witness testimony when needed and train staff to provide testimony.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the Judiciary, District Attorneys, Public Defenders, Parole Agents, and local law enforcement officials. Responds to all requests from the court within allotted timeframe.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships the community agencies that could positively impact community opportunities for FACT clients.
- May be responsible for a small client caseload.
- Responds to Special Incidents and law enforcement issues, with 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, coverage.
- Completes appropriate re-hospitalization referral packet and/or requests for separating clients from FACT, revocations or re-hospitalizations, with specific justifications/clinical rationale that address public safety considerations and relevant statutory issues.
- Collaborates with law enforcement agencies, parole agents, Court officials, and state hospitals in apprehending CONREP client and ensuring continuity of care during revocation/re-hospitalization process pursuant to FACT policy.
- Ensures completion of Client Transaction Reports and relaying required information to DSH within required timeframes.
- Ensures client-specific expenses are paid in a timely manner.
- Ensures orientation, training and clinical supervision of program staff as required in forensic issues, risk assessment, substance abuse screening, infection control, and provision of care.
- Conducts weekly clinical and administrative meetings; attends the regional meetings at least twice each year.
- Identifies and maintains professional boundaries to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic process and relationship.
- Ensures compliance with Company confidentiality policies, and Federal and State laws, regulations, and guidelines including HIPAA.
- Delivers care in a nonjudgmental/nondiscriminatory manner to protect the autonomy, dignity, and rights of FACT clients.
- Other duties as assigned.
Schedule: Sunday through Thursday; 8:00am to 4:30pm with on call responsibilities as needed

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Current and active California license as a psychologist, social worker, or marriage and family therapist
- Two years of forensic mental health experience.
- Two years of supervisory experience.
- Community-based mental health experience preferred.
- Experience working with individuals who have a severe mental illness diagnosis and/or substance abuse diagnosis.
- Previous CONREP experience strongly preferred.
- Experienced with Word and Excel.
- Active CPR certification preferred.
- Must be able to pass background investigation and jail/hospital clearance.
- Must have valid California driver’s license; good driving record. Proof of current auto insurance and must meet insurability requirements of Company insurance carrier.
