Aircraft Line Service Technician Manager
Century Aviation, Inc. an aviation company located in Klamath Falls, is seeking a highly motivated individual for a managerial position to oversee its Line Service Technician department. This position is responsible for all day-to-day operations pertaining to the FBO (Fixed Base Operator) in which the line service technicians provide a variety of services to Century Aviation’s customers. The objective is to ensure the Line Service department is exceedingly productive, provide exemplary customer service, adhere to safety protocols and regulations, and manage basic maintenance and upkeep of Century Aviation’s FBO fueling equipment.
Like any managerial position, the Line Service Manager must lead by example and strive to implement a higher standard for the overall quality and efficiency of operations. The position must also be able to coordinate both scheduled and unscheduled incoming and departing aircraft, delegate daily tasks, prioritize, multi-task, and efficiently resolve any issues that may arise. Close communication with the Line Service employees as well as other department supervisors within the company is vital to achieve success.
The proper candidate will be ambitious, a self-starter, organized, self-motivated, meticulous in job performance and pay great attention to detail as well as be able to lead and manage a team in an environment that can be both fast paced and idle according to each season.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Motivates the team of Line Service Technicians to reach their full potential and achieve set goals
- Oversees fuel inventory and quality; orders fuel loads of Avgas and Jet fuel
- Oversees the development and training of all Line Service personnel
- Coordinates a schedule for Line Service Technicians to effectively meet the needs of the operation
- Must be able to carry out all duties of a Line Service Technician and assists his/her team when needed
- Performs any other duties that may be assigned
- Coordinates and completes special projects as needed
- Assures that all required duties and checklists of a shift are complied with.
- Resolve problems or issues by using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies and procedures and makes recommendations to further improve the operation.
- Assures all Line Service Technicians adhere to company policy and SOP’s
- Marshall arriving and departing aircraft
- Fuel various types of aircraft
- Conduct de-icing for aircraft, as needed
- Handling of aviation fuels and chemicals, including maintaining quality control of fuel through various procedures and completing applicable paperwork/documentation
- Maintain fuel quality with industry standard practices
- Facilitate aircrew and passenger ground services, as needed
- Maneuver aircraft on the ground with tugs and tractors, in a hanger or on the ramp.
- Ensuring the accuracy of information through various means of communication (radio, telephone, electronic, etc.)
- Servicing aircraft lavatories, as required.
- Driving vehicles in areas congested with moving and stationary aircraft, vehicles and equipment
- Greeting pilots, passengers and crew members
- Ensuring hangers, tarmac and client areas are kept clean and orderly
Qualifications
- This individual must be highly energetic and driven to motivate his/her team. Managerial and leadership experience required.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Common sense and quick witted
- Previous aviation experience preferred but not required.
- Schedule will include 4 10-hour shifts with 3 days off per week. Opportunity for overtime and bonuses.
- Must be willing and able to work weekends as well as participate in an after-hour callout schedule.
Requirements
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License, no DUI or major driving infraction in the last 3 years
- Must be able to push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to walk 5 to 10 miles per day in all weather conditions
- Be able to climb a ladder with a fueling hose.
