SUMMARY
To serve customers with beverages and food in a prompt and courteous manner. To answer questions of customers about casino operations and consistently act to provide a positive image to all customers and team members. To perform all duties in compliance with safety standards, health standards and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with Safety procedures, which includes use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their supervisor of unsafe conditions, as directed.
2. Provides quality services in order to encourage customers to purchase bar services. Serves customers with beverages and food in a prompt and courteous manner.
3. Answers questions of customers about casino operations and consistently acts to provide a positive image to all customers and team members.
4. Develops, maintains and enhances positive relations with all customers and team members.
5. Wears and maintains all uniforms properly.
6. Performs all duties in compliance with the Colorado Limited Gaming Act.
7. Alerts supervisor of any concerns regarding the quality, selection and variety of all food and beverages.
8. Complies with established security policies and procedures.
9. Monitors customers for intoxication, discontinues alcohol sales, and informs security and key on duty. Alerts Key on duty and security regarding customers that may be difficult or possibly violent.
10. Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
11. Exercises diligence at all times maintaining the cleanliness of the casino. Empties ashtrays, returns drink glasses to the bar, etc.
12. May be asked to verify Jackpots with slot attendants.
13. May be asked to get change for customers from cage.
14. May be asked to cover for bar staff.
15. Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
16. Attendance: reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrated cocktailing experience, preferably within hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment. Demonstrated strong customer service skills. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing and prioritizing work.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Graduation from High School, or the equivalent in education and experience. One (1) or more years of recent and related cocktailing experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant or gaming environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Demonstrated effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English.
REASONING ABILITY: Decisions are limited to within the scope of essential duties.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Twenty-one (21) years of age preferred. Colorado Limited Gaming Support License helpful.
OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Demonstrated ability to perform mathematical calculations. Successful completion of alcohol awareness training.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion: constant brisk walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, pushing for an entire work shift, with standard breaks, in order to perform duties. Essential duties require lifting trays containing beverages and food; and lifting up to 30 pounds to stack, store or move cocktailing, bar, kitchen, restaurant or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours routinely required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties involve working in an environment which contains large groups of people, loud noise, heavy cigarette smoke and odors.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Equipment used in performing of cocktailing duties include serving trays, mixers, refrigerators, knives, spoons, forks, glasses, and various cleaning supplies and materials.
