Shift: Daytime shift available 7 days a week
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
To direct and manage the Audit Department. Maintains accuracy and compliance.
Audit Department according to the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, ICMP, and department policy and procedures. Ensures the timely and accurate supervision of audit operations.
House Policies and Procedures and the Colorado Division of Gaming Rules and Regulations.
- · Within the realm of the responsibility of the job, maintain a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures. This includes the use of safety equipment. Identifies unsafe practices or conditions and informs immediate supervisor of unsafe conditions, as directed.
- Manages and develops an effective staff through appropriate and necessary training. Schedules, rewards, and discipline staff appropriately. Develops staff to meet and exceed performance expectations by establishing and maintaining positive work morale and effective employee relations.
- Responsible for employee evaluations of each member of the auditing staff.
- Maintains positive and effective working relations between employees of the audit dept. and employees of other departments.
- Compliance with established security policies and procedures. Informs immediate supervisor of any violations of casino security policies and procedures.
- Maintains positive and effective relations with regulatory officials. Acts as a liaison to municipal, state, and federal regulators and private auditing firms in their efforts to conduct independent internal audits of company operations.
- Knowledge of auditing procedures as stated in the procedure’s manual, according to the ICMP and Colorado Limited Gaming Act. Maintains an awareness of all updates from the Division of Gaming and ensures that the procedures followed are the most current. Ensures staff consistently demonstrates knowledge of the ICMP, Colorado Limited Gaming Act, and all updated procedures from the Division of Gaming.
- Communicate with all appropriate department managers regarding auditing activities. Coordinates the development of new procedures. Ensures staff are informed of the updates in departmental procedures that directly affect auditing.

- Ensures the audit staff is accurate and timely in the preparation and review of reports, investigating variances, correcting errant information, and making sure corrective action has been taken to correct problems found.
- Review drop paperwork, statistical reports, and results of investigations. This review ensures the accuracy of the Monthly Gaming Tax Return.
- Review exception reports to ensure procedures are being effectively carried out and to determine which areas need corrective action.
- Review corrections made to Jackpot and Fill amounts to ensure correct reporting for Monthly Gaming Taxes.
- Reviews Table Games, and results of variance investigations. This review ensures the accuracy of the Monthly Gaming Taxes.
- Review Cage Summary reports to ensure the accuracy of the Monthly Gaming Taxes.
- Review all audit trail reports to ensure the accuracy of all corrections made to the slot system.
- Prepares the Monthly Gaming Taxes.
- Ensures the Quarterly Progressive Test is performed accurately and at the required times.
- Ensures a timely, final review of progressive logs is performed at the end of the month.
- Ensure that the audit staff is knowledgeable of and follows the directives stated in Title 31.
- Review all FINCEN 103 reports before they are filed with the IRS.
- Ensures that the audit staff files all documentation, records and forms according to the filing procedures stated in the Audit Department Procedures Manual.
- Communicates effectively with the GM. Reports concern the GM in an accurate and timely manner.
- Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.
- Knowledgeable of and willing to follow the Employee Handbook provided by the Human Resource Dept. Ensure audit staff consistently demonstrates awareness of the policies and procedures stated in the Employee Handbook.
26. Attendance: reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work.
Demonstrates experience performing audit functions or is willing and able to learn audit policies, procedures, and related operations. Demonstrates experience performing within specific deadlines and/or under pressure. Demonstrates experience in problem-solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
Experience of three or more years preferred or recent and related auditing experience, preferably including supervisory experience in audit operations. Preferably experience is within a gaming environment.
Must have a valid and current State of Colorado Gaming License. Must be at least eighteen years of age.
