What are the responsibilities and job description for the Agricultural Equipment Operator position at Century Farms?
At the direction of the Farm Manager assist in operation of large field equipment included tractors, self propelled sprayer, swather, combines and semi-trucks. Our machinery is well mandated and modern. This position would be involved in all aspects of the farm including harvest operations, winter overhauls of all farm equipment, and/or job that is necessary within the operation. We work long hours in the busy season it is an hourly position with overtime at 40 hours. Full health benefits and 401k match
Essential Functions
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Experience with operating a Large ag equipment or similar equipment, Ideally 3-5 years experience
- Perform field level activities such as seeding, harvesting, spraying, haying and more
- Complete application records as required by the Company and government regulations.
- Maintain the facility and repair equipment in a safe and dependable operating condition, which enhances operation efficiency and product quality.
- Ability to work well independently and work extended hours during busy season
- Organizing and tracking chemical and fertilizer used in various fields.
- Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment
- Transfer and deliver fertilizer, chemical and water to application equipment in the field
- Ability to lift 50lbs to load agricultural products into trucks and equipment
- Direct and monitor the work of seasonal help
- Must have excellent critical thinking, problem solving and analytical skills
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- 4-5 years of experience operating agricultural equipment in a production farming environment.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid private applicator license
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
- CDL is a preferred but not required
- Organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented
- Must be proficient with technology and GPS equipment
- Willingness and ability to perform manual work following verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
