VP, Safety & Risk Management

We are seeking a VP, Safety & Risk Management to join our client’s dynamic team. You will be responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of the company’s safety and risk management programs. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $151,000 to $225,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Lead and guide the safety and risk management team, fostering a culture of zero harm and risk awareness.
• Oversee risk management practices, including hazard identification and loss control measures.
• Develop and implement safety and risk management strategies that align with the company’s business goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and prioritize operational, financial, and reputational risks.
• Design, lead, and continuously improve safety programs and policies.
• Analyze incident data to identify trends and make strategic recommendations to improve safety practices and reduce incidents.
  
  

Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and other relevant safety regulations and standards.
• Proven track record of successful safety program implementation and risk management at an executive level.
• Exceptional strategic thinking, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
  
  

Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management, Environmental Health & Safety, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 10 years of experience in safety and risk management
• At least 5 years in a senior leadership or executive role.
• Extensive experience in the solid waste or transportation industry.
